Spilimbergo Estate

AN ENDLESS STRETCH OF VINEYARDS THAT CONTINUE TO THE EYE LOSS, MERGING WITH THE HORIZON

The Villa Sandi Estate in Spilimbergo is located in Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the eastern area of the production of Prosecco DOC. The particular mild climate, soil composition and well-distributed rainfalls throughout the year constitute an ideal environment for vine cultivation. In the richness of a territory where agricultural landscapes and historical recalls coexist, many varieties find perfect placement including Glera, Pinot Nero and Ribolla Gialla.

THE DRY GRASSLANDS OF FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA
M

Magredo means “barren land” in the Friuli dialect and this name defines a very unique area in Friuli Venezia Giulia designated a “Site of Community Importance” by the European Union. Stones are the most distinctive element found in the Magredi: as they are permeable, the water disappears through them to later resurface in the area of the springs. The unusual environment, the unique microclimate, the vegetation and fauna are all due to the presence of the stones.

The particularity of this soil makes the Spilimbergo grapes - Glera, Pinot Grigio and Ribolla - more sugary and with greater aromatic notes, the basis for particularly fresh wines, with mineral notes and clear aromas.
